BRUSHED METAL

LACQUERED FINISH

This season, trends for jewelry are going all the way to different ends of the spectrum.  Distinct themes and concepts permeate the Fall/Winter collections.  Sculptural metal pieces lifted inspiration from Arts and Crafts era designs.  Gold and silver were refreshed by brushed surfaces, which offered newness to metal. Giant jewels in organic forms felt playfully opulent and lavish.  Lacquered finish and enameled surfaces in geometric shapes delivered modern chic and funky edge.

Organic pieces employ a range materials straight from nature — petrified wood, horn, raw minerals/ Unique textures and sculptural forms / Crystal quartz, agate and pyrite are left rough or cut into smooth shapes / Pearls and precious metals add an element of luxury.

Matte finishes soften minimalist gold and silver pieces / Metals have a velvety appearance / Perfect for smooth, curved designs and thin, flat shapes / Industrial elements — tubes, screws, hooks — add interest.

Hammered metals and hand-crafted looks evoke Arts and Crafts era designs / Slightly oxidized or rusted effects lend an antique feel / Sculptural forms have an Art Smith (iconic 50s jewelry designer) aesthetic / Rough, carved or matte textures.

Lacquered Finish - Enameled surfaces feel modern / New styles incorporate woven climbing rope and lacquered textures / Opaque color pairs with gold or silver metals / Geometric, sculptural or representational forms.
